ABOUT

CrossFit Non Nobis gets its name from the Latin rendering of Psalms 115:1 which reads: “Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam.” This translates as: “Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.” Ergo, “Non Nobis” literally means “Not to us.”  The message this phrase imparts encapsulates the attitude and philosophical motivation of the gym’s founding members. The notion of crediting a divine creator underpins the rationale for pursuing a fit physique to the highest degree reasonable, not as a merely aesthetic pursuit to satisfy personal vanity, but as way to honor Him who created for you a body that could be capable of such an awesome array of capabilities and adaptability.  Thus the discipline required to see gains in our lifts or faster run times spawns not from a source of selfishness, but from selflessness, not as an opportunity to honor self, but someone greater than self.
